I have a To-Do list as long as my arm today.
Yesterday, I worked from morning ‘til night…. 14 hours to be precise. I don’t even remember getting into bed last night. That’s how exhausted I was.
This isn’t a complaint… it was a good kind of exhaustion because since I started working for myself I haven’t even thought about how tired I am or how many hours I’m working. I’m just so grateful to be working. This week is a busy, messy week. Messy because I had more orders than product, which has not happened before. So, I just pushed through and made more product and prayed to the gods how grateful I was for this first-time dilemma.
For those that have ever ran their own, new-never-been-done-before business know how many firsts you go through before you can start to feel the cogs move a bit more easily. I’ve encountered so many firsts since launching the business, I always say, “Okay, maybe this is the last”, then BOOM!!!, there’s another one around the bend. Coming from a completely different career background has made things quite challenging but I am loving it so much. I’m not saying I want it to always be challenging and to hit bumps in the road constantly, I just mean it’s nice that these challenges have reared their ugly heads and I’ve gone at them with glitter and a glue gun to make them pretty. Call me Suzi the Conqueror [insert image of me looking all Napoleonic here].
This morning, when I creaked out of bed, sore legs, sore arms and my hands numb from a 14 hour shift, I smiled… I used to feel like this working a 8 hour shift for someone else… I came downstairs and treated myself to a nice breakfast, a change from the dry toast with Vegemite and black coffee.

How good does my breakfast look? She was a beauty too. So delicious. I ate in silence, all I could hear was the hum of the central heating and the sound of gentle rain… it reminded me of those audio tapes we used to listen to to calm us down or help us sleep, except mine lacked sounds of Dolphins and Whales.
Which brings me to my next “To-Do” on the list… I did a 10 minute meditation and now I have to shower, put outside clothes on and go buy more ingredients to make more product. Somewhere along the way I might stop for a coffee and read my book Sophie’s World, by Jostein Gaarder. Have you read it? I used to own a 1st edition but AGAIN… don’t lend your books to ANYONE!!! Not giving a book back is the height of rudeness. So, I got a 20th anniversary one. I highly recommend it if you like philosophy.
My Friday is going swimmingly. Not exactly how I planned it but I can’t complain. I have today and tomorrow still but then I have given myself 2 days off and I can’t wait.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend and thanks for stopping by. Don’t forget to subscribe and share. I get no money out of it but I get a warm, fuzzy feeling in my heart when I get an email with a new subscriber and that is worth more than all the money in the world.
