It’s Unfair… it’s a pandemic

[I wrote this in the June of 2020 but forgot to hit publish. I neglected this website because I went somewhere else, but now I’m back. Sorry for the hiatius]

You didn’t cause the pandemic. You may be one of those that were, and still are quite vocal about its dangers. You probably didn’t vote for the leaders (worldwide) who have failed in protecting us. Yet here we are dealing with the fallout of an unplanned, nothing but a shitstorm dilemma none of us know anything about but plenty consider themselves professors on (preach: internet is truth 🙌🏽😕🤔😄).

You’re healthy enough, you’re unlikely to have major complications from this virus in your opinion. And yet here you are, stuck at home, under legal restrictions, prevented from working normally or living your life as you like.

Maybe, unlike some, you’ve got stashes of cash or you haven’t over-leveraged yourself into large debt payments. Which means on top of this pandemic, which is again not your fault, you are not in a position to be bailed out by our governments stimulus plan (thankfully Australia was economically strong and I feel obliged to thank your children, grandchildren and possibly your great grandchildren for copping this bill).

It’s unfair! It’s frustrating, but it’s reality.

So what?

Who ever promised you fair? Who promised you that you would be made whole?

Don’t look to be looked after first. That is not how life works. You do what’s right because it right. Remember that. That is what’s fair, even when it isn’t.
